Paul Castle received a B.S. degree in marketing management from Siena College. After graduation, Castle worked as a restaurant manager. Feeling the need to travel and pursue his passion for photography, Castle ventured off on a 4500 mile bike trip to the wilds of Alaska from Montana. Upon returning from his trip, now knowing what he needed to do to fulfill his dreams, Castle enrolled in the photography program at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, later earning a B.F.A. in photography. Castle remained in San Francisco for several years with his wife and daughter. As a photographer in San Francisco, Paul worked with a diverse client base in fashion, lifestyle, portraiture, and food, both in editorial and commercial photography.
Upon returning to upstate New York in the early 1990s, Castle has built a respected reputation on his superb attention to detail and extraordinary talent for lighting. With a passion and affinity for what he does, Castle excels in all aspects of the diverse range of projects he undertakes. Personable and professional, he works together with his clients to bring their visions to life, crafting photographs that capture the true essence of each dish, location, or person.
Castle has a full service studio in Waterford, NY, right on the Mohawk River. He works on the local, national and international level both on location and in the studio. During this time, Castle has taught for over 15 years as an adjunct professor of photography at the area’s finest colleges, “Ask anyone who knows me — I love to share what I know about photography and the digital world of post-production.
